My Philosophy

I believe that people look and feel their best when their bodies are nurtured, nourished and provided with the foundational energetic support integral to all downstream biophysical processes.

My Background

I connected with my inner calling of helping others heal after experiencing a health crisis that nearly killed me. In November of 2013 I was diagnosed with two different types of cancer. At the time I was 29 years old, and from the outside appeared to have a picture perfect life- married, with a two year old beautiful daughter, was in shape, ate well, etc, but the truth was I was a mess. I was stressed, disconnected, running in a constant state of fight or flight, completely detached from who I was and my greater purpose in life.

Following my diagnosis my entire life fell apart. My marriage crumbled, the physical depletion of chemotherapy was inescapable, I contemplated and confronted the fact that I might die. From that utter state of rubble I took a good hard look at myself- and realized that I didn’t even recognize who I had become. I had completely forgotten who I was. It was in this moment that I felt a deep and passionate commitment to not only rediscovering and healing myself but also dedicating my life to helping others heal.

Mindfulness was one of the most essential pieces of my journey through cancer. It allowed me not just to survive, but also to find an inner piece and joy that transcended the pain, turmoil, and discomfort of cancer.

I went back to school for nursing in 2015 and completed my Master's as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2020. Although my preparation as a NP laid the groundwork for entering primary care following graduation I was driven to dive deeper into how our medical system approaches disease by the number of patients I encountered who were struggling; they were tired, overweight, sleeping terribly, stressed, depressed, anxious.  All the while trying to do all the 'right' things; watching what they ate, exercising, taking their medications, etc. It became glaringly obvious to me that as a nation we excel at trauma/crisis management in medicine but fail miserably when it comes to preventative healthcare and chronic disease management.

This realization and desire to heal the root cause of dysfunction led me to a fellowship program at Wild Health. It was there  thatI learned precision medicine, epigenetics, metabolism, longevity, nutrition, functional exercise, and biohacking. During my time in the fellowship I connected with Dr. Jeremy Stich who was implementing bioenergetic principles and treatments with his patients with profound results. My curiosity was piqued and I (with some trepidation) underwent my first Pulsed Electric Frequency (PEF) treatment. The results spoke for themselves; after two sessions, I decreased my hypoparathyroidism medication by 98%, my serum ionized calcium and white blood cell count was smack dab in the middle of 'normal' range... for the first time in EIGHT years.

My mind was blown. I subsequently immersed myself into understanding the theories of quantum physics that govern the areas of medicine not commonly taught in allopathic programs: mind-body medicine, energy medicine, functional medicine, herbalism, and quantum biology.  I  underwent training as PEF practitioner, became a Reiki master, completed coursework through the Institute for Functional Medicine, am a certified Mindfulness Based Cancer Recovery instructor, and will complete my Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Duke University in May 2026.

My professional practice combines the best of all these approaches- recognizing and utilizing medications when needed but also drawing heavily upon optimizing the body systems and foundation of health first through diet, exercise, sleep, and mindfulness.
